You have two options: either use a service that manages the system for you OR you bring the processing in house. We can help you either way.
Why do I need a system? A system is needed when you want to have one place issue the card and allow that card to be redeemed at another location. When you have a gift card that works in two or more places, there needs to be a central spot managing the cards and there has to be ways to communicate between the sites. This central spot can be your own IT deparment.
System Components
| Central Server | The central server is based on Windows Server and supports both dialup and IP communications. It holds the database of cards, current card status, and amount left on each card. It performs the interactions that move money onto the cards and pulls money off. |
| POS Station | Each POS station can access the system through any web browser |
| POS Terminal | Dialup terminals can be used when you have control over the software that is in them. Some terminals are locked by the credit card company and you will not be able to add the software. Sometimes, it is cheapest to purchase refurbished Tranz units and have them at the store. |
| Cell Phone | We have the design for using a text message from a cell phone instead of a card. Call us for more details. |
This system can be purchased either as fully customized or in source code form for your own developers to finish.
